Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the east Queensland coast. A surface trough over the interior of the state will shift slowly east during the next two days and then weaken. Forecast for the rest of Friday Hotter, drier air pushing in from central Australia should produce fine and hot conditions over the interior. A medium chance of some showers and thunderstorms about the northwest of the state and the slight chance in the southeast near a surface trough. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds across the eastern districts, and mostly light southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.
