Good morning fellow progressives, This is to announced to you the burial of our legendary father, grandfather and a great icon Da Sen. John Wash Pam. His funeral service would take place today at Government House Chapel by 10:00AM and interment would be at his Hometown Foron, Barkin Ladi LGC of Plateau State after the funeral service. Baba was the Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the 2nd Republic under President Shehu Shagari between 1979 to 1983 when that government was over-thrown through a Coup and Gen. Buhari took over power dissolving all democratically-elected structures. He died on Thursday 1st May, 2014 at the National Hospital in Abuja after a battle with cancer. He was an excellent democrat and one of the pillars of Nigerias democracy. We have lost an unrepentant democrat, who was in the forefront of the return to civil rule. Senate President David Mark has this to say on Babas demise and i quote His death at this time of our Nations political history is a big blow. He was a great parliamentarian who contributed positively to the political evolution of Nigeria We as a Nation shall greatly miss him he concluded. Barrister Phillip Nyitni(Admin of this group) also has this to say about Late Sen. John Wash Pam and i quote his directly from words he was a political mentor to me and was the person who took me to Lagos for the first time in 1980. To Friday Bako baba was an epitome of peace, unity, harmonious living, a seasoned technocrat as well as a detribalized Nigerian who believed so much in the rule of law, unity of the Nation, good governance and quality representation all the time. We would miss him in many ways Do we still have leaders who can fit into his shoes? RIP Baba and may God give his family, relatives, friends, mentees, political associates, Berom Nation, Plateau State and Nigeria the fortitude to bear this great loss.
