Good morning friends! We have a further praise report from Nancy Baker - My hubby and I are so glad to be home and we are so thankful for all God has done for him. Thank you for your prayers everyone. Praise God for His goodness and faithfulness. We should all be greatly encouraged. Let us continue to pray one for another, and let us be thankful every single day. Excerpts from Psalm 68 - Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Your God has commanded your strength; Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us. Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth; Oh, sing praises to the Lord, God. You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God! Lord, we give your praise and thanksgiving for your miraculous healing touch on Sam, and are hearts and mouths are overflowing with awe at your goodness and faithfulness. We are all encouraged to continue praying for all the unspoken requests that are represented by us all. We thank you that you are the same yesterday, today and forever. We put all of our trust in you, and cant wait to see more of your great power in our lives. We bow before and give you praise, adoration and thanksgiving. Our hearts are full of love for you and we want to know you better this day. We praise you with all that is within us. AMEN! Acts 12:20-25 Now Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; but they came to him with one accord, and having made Blastus the king’s personal aide their friend, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food by the king’s country. So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God grew and multiplied. And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry, and they also took with them John whose surname was Mark. Herod was feeling his oats. He had been given a lot of authority from Rome, and he bullied the people of Tyre and Sidon. Tyre and Sidon did everything in their power to make peace with him. They became friends with Herods aide, Blastus. They asked Herod for peace. On the appointed day to conclude the peace, which was during games in honor of Caesar, as Josephus reports it, clad in a garment woven completely of silver so that its texture was indeed wondrous, he entered the theater at daybreak. There the silver, illumined by the touch of the first rays of the sun, was wondrously radiant and by its glitter inspired fear and awe in those who gazed intently upon it No wonder that as Herod addressed the assembly, which included the populace of Caesarea as well as the delegation from Tyre and Sidon, they cried out, This is the voice of a god, and not of a man. Herod acknowledged their words, and basked in their praise and adulation. He gave no credit to God. Immediately God struck him, and according to history he died in five days time He experienced pain in the heart and stomach--peritonitis from a perforated appendix, combined with intestinal roundworms, ten to sixteen inches long. His pride and ego did him in. As the worms spread in his intestines, in contrast, the gospel spread like wildfire. Herod had tried to wipe out Christianity and please the religious leaders, but God used this persecution to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ even more. Gods purposes cannot be thwarted by man. aul and Barnabas returned from serving in Jerusalem, helping those in need, and returned to Antioch, taking John Mark with them. Let us not think too highly of ourselves. Yes, we are children of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, but all that we have and are, should only be attributed to the mercy, grace, love and faithfulness of God. There is no good thing within us of our own selves. Lord, we see our great need of you - we come humbly before you, and ask that you use us however you please to bring honor and glory to your name. We give you praise and adoration. AMEN! Walk with the King today, and be a blessing! I leave you with the hymn, The Victory. No more need fear, and no more need doubting, No more need pride control in my life. I may be free from all condemnation, I can have victory now in the strife. Refrain I take the life of victory, Not I, but Christ Himself in me; He conquers now, He sets me free; I take, He gives—the victory. There is a place, praise God, I have found it! There is a place where we may be free; Free from defeat, with power surrounded; Yes, there is victory, Jesus, in Thee. Precious provision, wonderful prospect, Jesus will rule and Jesus will lead; He is my Shepherd, He is my Keeper, He is my Bread of Life, on Him I feed.
