Good morning friends, check it. Ive really been thinking. (yes it happens from time to time) If you, like myself, have struggled with substance and yet at the same time retained your belief in Christ, you know the pangs of guilt and shame that rip your heart open. In reality that wrenching guilt helped me finally get clean and return to the Lord. Walking in His light, getting clean and sober is truly a rebirth into a new life. Proceed with caution people, this new life IS life as its dealt. Its life on its own terms. You can make plans and life happens and it gets changed around. In the Christian walk, in sobriety, loved ones will still be diagnosed with cancer, you may be diagnosed with terminal or chronic illness. Theres no promise they wont foreclose on your home, get laid off from work. Nope. Some can have it going well financially and live long healthy lives but its not promised. Whats promised is His merciful Grace and life eternal through faith in His Son. Jesus Christ. That is what keeps me together. I struggle as you all well know, the self pity and doubt get in the way sometimes but He never turns me loose. Im so grateful for that.
