Good morning from the swamp, Went out to take some pictures & feed the cats. Were surrounded by woods on 3 sides, the trees were singing snap, crackle, pop under the burden of ice. It looked so pretty on the trees, yet it was breaking their limbs off. February 13th Daily Bible Reading: Exodus 37:1-38:31; Psalm 22:9-15; Proverbs 8:12-21; Matthew 26:51-75. Devotion: The Reality Of Life I was cast upon You from birth. From My mothers womb you have been My God. Psalm 22:10 Dr. Walter Eerdman wrote a best-seller some years ago entitled Source of Power in Famous Lives. In it, he gave biographical sketches of 50 great men & women of history--among them David Livingstone, Jenny Lind, Clara Barton, Frances Willard, Christopher Columbus, & Oliver Cromwell. Eerdman drew this conclusion abt. the people he had profiled: In their lives, God was a reality. Truly great people share a common source of power--they simply apply that power in different ways. Some have greater public success & thus attain to a greater degree of fame & prominence than others. Many less famous people, however, have also encouraged others w/their stories of personal triumphs & victories. This shows that the power which comes from having a real relationship w/God isnt limited to the rich & famous. It can be attained by anyone, regardless of their wealth or position in society. Genuine power from God is manifest as hope in times of disaster, calm in times of crises, direction in times of confusion, & an enduring faith in times of fear. Anyone can know this power if they will allow God to become a reality in their lives. If we just trust in Jesus we can tap into the Holy Spirit that He gives to all who believe in Him & we will have strength like weve never imagined. God bless you all, please stay warm & safe.
