Good morning guys. Cloud and patchy rain to start the day along - TopicsExpress

Good morning guys. Cloud and patchy rain to start the day along the Eastern coast of England, stretching into Central and Eastern Scotland. This will move away into the North Sea during this morning, although the far North East of Scotland may hold on to some patchy light rain and drizzle for a time. Elsewhere in the UK will see a mainly dry start to the day with mist and fog patches in many areas. The mist and fog will lift leaving a fine day with variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells for most, although mist and low cloud may continue to affect Eastern coasts of England and Scotland at times. Into this afternoon we see showers developing, some of which may be heavy and thundery although these will be well scattered and many areas will avoid them. Winds will be light for most today although onshore breezes may develop in coastal areas this afternoon. The pollen count will be moderate for most of England, although South Western parts will see low levels. A low pollen count is also expected in Wales. Levels will be low for much of Scotland however South Western parts will see a moderate pollen count. Low levels today for Northern Ireland. The UV index today will be moderate for most of the UK except for Northern and Eastern Scotland where UV levels will be low. Top temperatures in England and Wales today will typically range from 14°C to 17°C although one or two spots in the South East of England and also East Anglia may exceed these values with 19°C possible locally. Highs in Scotland today will range from 12°C to 15°C. Eastern parts will see the coolest weather. Northern Ireland will see maximum temperatures today ranging from 13°C to 15°C. This evening showers will gradually ease, perhaps lingering for a time in Central Northern England. Overnight we see cloud and misty conditions for many Eastern areas of the UK with some rather dense fog patches developing in places. Clearer skies in Western parts although still some mist and fog in places. Later in the night rain will move into Southern and South Eastern parts of England and some patchy rain is also expected in Northern Ireland by dawn. Winds will remain light for most of the UK. Minimum temperatures tonight will generally range from 6°C to 10°C for England and Wales although cooler than this in rural areas, particularly in the West of England and Wales. The mildest weather is expected in the South and East of England. Overnight lows in Scotland will range from 5°C to 8°C for most but cooler in the Highlands. The Western Isles may just hold up in double figures. Northern Ireland will see minimum temperatures typically range from 4°C to 8°C. Western areas may see values a little lower than this, especially in rural areas. Into tomorrow and the weekend its an unsettled theme with the risk of showers increasing for many, especially during the weekend. Some longer spells of rain are also expected in places but there will be some fine and dry weather at times. So its looking like a typical April weekend with showers, but as we near the months end will this bring May flowers? Well, there will certainly be flowers but they may not be basking in glorious sunshine and late Spring warmth as the trend appears to continue unsettled and possibly turning somewhat cooler for the start of the month. This is of course subject to change at this stage but we will keep you updated. Have a lovely day. - Jon
