Good morning ~ its quite the windy day out there! But its sunny and the spring flowers are blooming so winter is finally on its way out. Spring is my favorite time for sports. Baseball is in full swing and both hockey and basketball are in the midst of their playoffs. I enjoyed watching the pine tar fiasco last night in Boston. I find it hard to believe that anyone could think hed get away with sporting pine tar twice! Lets see if Pineda gets a suspension for this. And hockey ~ last night was a thriller for Falcons followers. The Birds were playing their first playoff game of the season and they won in overtime. And ten minutes later, their parent club, the Columbus Blue Jackets won in overtime to tie their series against the Penguins. Its great to see our Falcons graduates playing in the NHL. The Falcons will be playing at home Friday and Saturday. If you enjoy hockey, plan on taking in a game. And while youre downtown, stop in here for a bite to eat. Todays lunch specials are a ham sandwich with sliced red onions, meatballs with mushroom cream sauce over noodles and a chicken pot pie. The desserts are peach pudding and German chocolate cake.
