Good morning middle class masses. The following is one of those hard truths that so many of us do not want to hear. The United States of America is rapidly heading to that critical point where we will be forced to “pay the piper” for our government’s gross lack of fiscal responsibility. Right now the dollar is the “world’s reserve currency.” For those of you that are not aware of this, in the foreign exchange market and international finance, a world currency, or global currency, refers to a currency that is used internationally. This currency has no set borders. At present, the dollar has the status as the world’s most reliable currency. There are many rumors going around that the dollar will soon be overthrown as the world’s reserve currency due the excessive amount of money the Federal Reserve keeps printing which devalues the dollar, our debt that keeps growing, and the decline of the dollar. One of the privileges and responsibilities that come with being the world reserve currency is the right to print money when needed to pay debts. If the dollar loses its status as the world reserve currency, we lose our right to print money. Our debt will come due. Our government is out of control. Our leaders on both sides of the aisle have thrown fiscal responsibility out the window. We have been robbing Peter to pay Paul. We will soon be $17 trillion dollars in debt. The way our leaders in Washington continuously lie to us to cover their butts, our debt is probably much more than we are told. The Federal Reserve is printing $85 billion dollars a month to buy bonds which are putting us more into debt. All this is doing is devaluing our dollar. This is totally un-sustainable, yet we keep raising our debt ceiling, borrowing more money, and spending more money than we take in. Ask yourselves the following questions; why have we not had a federal budget since 2009? The answer is simple, our leaders do not want the restraints that a federal budget will force them to adhere to. They want to continue to spend our money freely. Why haven’t our leaders on both sides of the aisle addressed the problems of entitlement programs which cost us billions? Again, a simple answer, they don’t want to offend, or make angry, these voters that they can count on to vote for them as long as the freebees and handouts keep flowing their way. Our leaders are more worried about staying in office then fixing our problems. Note: Social Security is not an entitlement. We citizens pay for it via the FICA tax that comes out of our pay checks every pay period. Washington has drained our Social Security Trust Fund over the years to the tune of $2.7 trillion dollars. Now our leaders are desperately trying to convenience we citizens that Social Security is an entitlement program so they don’t have to re-pay our money. If you think that the financial meltdown of late 2007, 2008, and 2009 was bad, when this bubble burst, it will make the last meltdown seem like a walk in the park. Our country that we all love is being destroyed, as predicted, from within, by our out of control government and so many of our leaders that are addicted to power and greed. What is so heart breaking to me is that we have become so complacent and apathetic, we middle class American’s (Democrat and Republican) are letting it happen. Is this what we want for us and our children? It is time to get involved and take action.
