Good news on Secret! Ultrasound and chest xrays showed no problems. She has Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (IMT). Most of the time they never find out what caused it, but what it is...the immune system turns on itself and starts to destroy platelets. It is treated with massive doses of pred and two other drug. After the platelet counts return to normal the pred is gradually weaned off over a period of months. There is a 90% survival rate AND we caught her problem early. More good news! Pray that all of her problems are due to this malfunction and that she does not also need to have the MRI and spinal surgery. She is on rest for the next couple of weeks anyway. That should certainly help her back. God heard your prayers! Thank you for responding to my pleas for help. I felt the love around me all day today.
