Good piece in todays Wall Street Journal about policies that are stifling innovation in the United States. Between the medical device tax and bureaucratic red-tape at the FDA, our status as the worlds leading innovator is being threatened. For instance, low risk devices take over four times as long to approve in the U.S. compared to the European Union. The House has taken action to put an end to this trend by passing my legislation last week to repeal the medical device tax along with passing other bills streamlining government approval processes.
