Good turnout tonight, despite the fact that we were missing some of our regulars; however it was good to welcome back Karen Jervis Marsh and Ana Paula Cutmore who have been unable to get to Group for a while. A warm welcome to Emmajane Corrigan who joined us for a pyramid session, starting at 15 seconds, increasing by 15 seconds to 1 minute, then a jump to 90 seconds, then back down again. Interval training is one of the most effective exercises for improving speed. Learning to run faster is a gradual process. Alternating bursts of fast running with a recovery period trains your muscles to work more efficiently and economically at higher speeds. Another benefit is that your moderately paced runs will feel easier. Spotlight tonight on James Walker who is already showing signs of improvement! x
