Good vibrations bring braille into the 21st century Two of our Post-doctoral Research Assistants involved with SiDE (Social Inclusion through the Digital Economy), are developing a unique system called HoliBraille. In partnership with INESC-ID at the Technical University of Lisbon, and LaSIGE at the University of Lisbon’s Department of Informatics, Kyle Montague and Hugo Nicolau are attempting to make braille more accessible. They have created a system that: “combines chord input with a series of vibrations that notify the user of what the system is registering. The HoliBraille case can be attached to a Samsung Android phone and sends information to the user via vibrations that are felt through their fingers. Find out more: tinyurl/mttju89
