REWARD OFFERED IN PAIR OF RECENT ARMED ROBBERIES A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information about a pair of armed robberies in Mesquite last week involving masked gunmen. According to Lt. Bill Hedgpeth of the Mesquite Police Department, at about 3:30 a.m. last Wednesday. three men entered a convenience store at Oates and Northwest Drives demanding money from the clerk. A fourth male confronted a female in the parking lot before going inside and joining the other three in the store. One suspect, according to Hedgpeth, had a rifle and two suspects had handguns. Nobody was injured. The following day at about the same time, three men entered a convenience store at U.S. Interstate 30 and Motley Drive threatening to shoot the clerk if she did not comply with their demands for money. One had a rifle and one had a handgun. Nobody was injured. Anyone with information about the suspects involved is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or the MPD at the numbers listed below.
