Good & well-written article about the social problems which our country and world need to work to make this a better place. The Christians and other good people I know are active in their communities and through out the world to help people have better lives. One of my heroes is Juancito, a social worker in Ocosingo, Chiapas, Mexico. He laments that he never attended high school. He is a generous, kind, and humble person. He always flashes his endearing smile! He is one smart guy; however, he told me that his lack of formal education is a barrier to opportunities. Relentless, he wrote a book for the Mayan villagers with whom he works to explain how they can access micro-financing. He also trains these villagers how to run small businesses. He has helped dozens of groups start now-thriving cottage industries. He told me that his goal it to economically help as many villages so that their children will have access to a secondary education that he never got. Juancito is my hero.
