Goodnight Happy Hikers...yes, you read that right! I have been up since 12:42am looking for my dog that I let out to go potty at that time. I went out every hour from 1:00am to 9:00am looking for Molly. After emailing my neighbors to keep an eye out for her, calling and filing a lost dog report with TCRAS, I get a call from TCRAS that they had her there. When I went to pick her up, I was told that our police dept., who was patroling the neighborhood picked her up and took her to the jail for the night so she would stay warm. After talking to all the folks involved, I came to find out that my dog was found taking a dump IN MY YARD at 12:45am (3 minutes after I let her out), and although all of my outdoor lights were on awaiting her to come back to the door, since she didnt have her collar on (yes, this was my fault for not putting it on for the 5 minutes it takes her to go take a dump in the yard at 12:42am), they picked her up and took her to the jail. So, now, $30 release fee and a sizable donation to TCRAS for their help later...Molly and I are going to take a nap...ALL DAY! Moral of the story: Dont let your dog out in the middle of the night to poop in your yard in the safest town in Colorado without a collar on! Sweet dreams...and have an awesome day!
