Goodwood stage was the roughest i have ever known it - A real car breaker. If you think it is only about 2+ miles, then each competitor would be doing around 12-15 miles per day (less than two stages of a proper Forest Rally) but the destruction rate was out of proportion. You would not expect to lose nearly half the field in the first few stages of a proper rally! Bill Gwynne was nursing the car round the pot holes, but we still broke two drive shafts in the space of 5 runs! a distance of 12ish miles (and I have never, ever broken one before in this car in near 50 rallies!)
