Google has announced a pilot program through which third-party organizations can borrow the high-tech Street View Trekker equipment and contribute imagery to its mapping platform. Google’s Trekker backpack captures 360-degree photos of locations, and can be navigated through narrow passes and inclines. Google needs your help to expand its Street View photo library. Volunteer today and capture the most exotic locations around the world with Google’s Trekker backpack. Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) is the program’s first partner. They have already started taking pictures of some of the most exotic places in the Hawaiian Islands. However, the program is open only to certain organizations such as tourism boards, government agencies, universities and research groups. Interested? You can apply here - goo.gl/hlwRK Via Mashable
