GOOD POINT..EXCELLENT!!! Prosecutor • a day ago If you go frame by frame, you can see that Stewart turns his wheels to the right just before hitting Ward. He then corrects and turns to the left. As Ward is being dragged by the car, you can see Stewarts wheels are still to the right even though the turn is to the left. In the lap before when Ward hit the wall, you can see that when Stewart was going through the turn (left) he turns his wheels slightly to right as he is going through the turn. But that was a different type of situation and clearly not what happened when he hit Ward. To me, this means that Stewart altered his path in a way that was inconsistent with him just trying to take the turn. It also means that he did the opposite of trying to avoid Ward. At this point, I am not convinced beyond a reasonable doubt (criminal burden) that Stewart tried to hit Ward, but I am convinced by a preponderance of the evidence (civil burden). Perhaps if the GoPro camera footage is released I would be convinced beyond a reasonable doubt. I am not a race car driver but I do consider myself a good driver - I drive faster than I should and have never been involved in an accident. Furthermore, I dont watch NASCAR and had no feelings toward Ward or Stewart before taking a look at the footage.
