Got an email from David Cameron today asking for my views on the referendum and begging me to vote No. Heres my reply in full: I dont know how you got my email address but, just to make it clear to you, I am an SNP member and will be voting YES in our referendum. I experienced the Thatcher years first hand, with the miners strike, the closure of the steelworks and shipbuilding and the iniquitous divisions that she and the Tory party caused. Nothing has changed over the intervening years to convince me that the Tories have the best interests of Scotland at heart. Now is a time for my nation to stand on its own two feet and be governed by representatives we choose; not a parliament in Westminster whose policies Scotland have clearly and consistently rejected. As for your plea to those having no say in our referendum to try and convince those who do to vote No, that smacks of straw clutching desperation in the face of the will of the people and is the West Lothian Question turned on its head - those in England should have no say at all in what we, as Scots, decide to do with our future. Shame on you, Mr Cameron, and your parcel of rogues! Nick Vagg Alba gu brath!
