Got call from SBS. this afternoon wanting an interview about taking the commonwealth to court over the age and retirement statistics, because the prime minister wants to raise the retirement age from 65 to 70, interesting, are we as a nation of people going to let him pass this bill? stand and be counted, Ill take the ball up. Need your suport. Please share need to get this out there, use all your networks, thanks▼ Hide quoted text Discriminated because of race and age I am an Aboriginal man born on the 10th of March 1957, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics I have a median life expectancy of 58.5 years whereas non-race specific Australian males have a median life expectancy of 78.4 years. The age pension for all males in Australia born after the 1st of March 1957, as shown on the Australian Centrelink website is payable at 67 years of age therefore, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, as an Aboriginal man I am unlikely to ever receive the aged pension, therefore I am being discriminated against by the Australian government through their agent The Department of Human Services. Non-race specific Australian males, born after the 1st of January 1957 according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, can potentially expect to receive the aged pension for 11.4 years before they die, that is 78.4 years minus 11.4 years equals 67 years. Information gathered from these facts indicate that Aboriginal males should therefore receive the aged pension at 47.1 years of age, representing the median life expectancy for Aboriginal males as 58.5 years of age minus 11.4 years equals 47.1 years, so as to give the aged pension to Aboriginal males for the same potential period as that for non-race specific Australian males. All Aboriginal males should have been entitled to the aged pension when we turn 47.1 years of age, but we have not been so entitled, therefore are we not being discriminated against due to our race and age, and is this not a true example of systematic enslavement of a race of people by a Government. When one looks at the Australian Criminal code 1999 it states quite clearly that enslavement is a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment of 27 years knowingly and 17 years unknowingly, evidence of the practice of genocide by a Government is quite evident relating to all these facts. I have initiated a complaint against the Commonwealth of Australia care of the Department of Human Services. But I am only one man, this is a case that needs to move forward with one united voice, on one hand I have presented the facts on the other hand the Australian Government states that they are closing the gap, and Constitutional reform is their platform, is enslavement still going to be a part of closing the gap and constitutional reform.
