Got home from Marquette less than an hour ago, with our patient.....Ronald B Hess. It was a very long day, and hes sound asleep all tucked in the recliner. The surgery did not go as well as we had anticipated on his shoulder, but the dr. Did what he could to alleviate some of the pain. With PT and possible steroid shots, what he was able to do will hopefully make Rons shoulder more mobile in time. The tear was very large, and repairing it, would possibly take up to eight hours, and would greatly limit his shoulder mobility. He told us he wouldve done it if Ron was much older and not in such good physical shape. Instead he shaved the rotor cup and released some tendons in the biceps that should help with the pain and future mobility. Thank you to all of our co-workers for the good thoughts and prayers, they are greatly appreciated. Thanks to our girl Jamee, who played chauffeur all day and gave up her day to be there for us today unconditionally! Thanks to family who called and texted.....we love you! Im off to bed while hes asleep, because I know when that block wears off, hes not going to be happy! Nite to all! Xoxo
