Got my new Lenovo X1 Carbon yesterday... and the adventure begun.. 1) All (at least Windows 8) laptops in China are locked into Chinese. I did managed to get at least some applications into English but the OS itself is still in Chinese. Possible solution: 1000RMB to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro which should give control to decide the default OS language. 2) This would also help to my second problem, the amazing amount of unnecessary SW that Lenovo has pre-installed. Without English OS I have no idea how to uninstall most of them. 3) But then one more problem would remain... I find the Windows 8 experience to be very confusing. Both me and Yu are completely lost with this... I love the Metro UI on mobile phones but not sure about this on a laptop. And why do I keep finding myself all the time from the "old Windows UI", not knowing why I ended up there? Final solution... Ubuntu (left the Windows 8 for banking and other non-Linux friendly stuff). Not all rainbows in Ubuntu land either... 1) trying to figure out why I cannot set the 1600x900 resolution, 2) not sure yet how to disable the trackpad, 3)...
