Got on what i suspected was the wrong side of the subway line, and started walking out to cross the street. Stopped a business man to confirm: "Excuse me, the Times Square stop is further north, right?" He tells me i want to go about two three miles up, and to, "here, follow me" takes me across the street, down the stairs, swipes me in with his subway pass, and tells me to have a great day. On my transfer, i went one stop the wrong direction, exited, crossed the street and was about to pull my card out to re-enter when a can collector stopped me and said "you can go free, go through this one, i paid one extra" That has been my New York from the moment I arrived. There are good people everywhere, but New Yorkers are the best, hands down. Sorry, rest of the world.
