Got the car in to get new tyres fitted this morning so I went for - TopicsExpress

Got the car in to get new tyres fitted this morning so I went for a wee coffee and chose a freezing cold bus stop of all places to sit and drink it. Whilst sitting at the bus stop, several buses came and went. Then the Glasgow City Centre bus arrived a few minutes late, and at that moment, there wasnt anyone wanting on the bus, just people coming off. Anyway, just as the driver prepared to pull off we all heard a screech from off in the distance, and from the crowd of people parading the pavement broke this frail older lady, probably in her 80s, striding towards the bus stop waving her bag in the air screeching wait.. WAIT!!. Albeit, she was moving with the pace of an injured sloth, but with the determination of an Olympic sprinter. Everyone at the bus stop let out a united driver wait theres someone coming!! But he was having none of it, he shook his head and began closing the doors. And you could sense the disappointment we all shared towards the driver, leaving us with the belief that the older ladys efforts were going to be in vein... It was then that we all witnessed something beautiful... An older gent, again, around his 80s, let out a shout NO!! And thrust his arm between the closing doors, preventing the driver from moving off. Seconds later, the lady arrived at the bus stop gasping for air and the same gent who stopped the bus from pulling away then helped her on and seen her on her way. I almost shed a tear. Wrinkly old man, you are my hero. An absolute idiot for firing your arm in the way of closing doors. But my hero!
