Got this email from Dave David Dennis this morning telling me his thoughts on the K2 hope he doesnt mind me passing it on. Hi Steve How’s the wing going? My thoughts so far. A lot more stable than kougar 1. I fly hands off a lot more. I need to have an extension on the speed bar to get that extra travel with the bar. I reckon I can get another 3-5 km extra speed (You need long legs to maximize the wings speed) You will find the same as are about the same height as me. I’m steering with the tip lines mainly while still holding toggles. I can still climb with trims out with full speed bar with a 100 cc motor with a 125 cm prop which is impressive. The brakes are a lot firmer than the kougar one. But with tip steering it not an issue. And with the impressive collapse resistance you can fly hand free a lot more. I’m going to add some soft rubber tubing on the tip steering lines to make it more comfortable using these lines. The kougar one is more nimble at slow trim flying with toggles only. Trims out by an inch or so for launches as the wing tends to sit back abit. (Like a full reflex wing) Have not launched in no winds yet. Have you? You will need to let the trim out a bit I would say. The wing should come up easy to the strong leading edge Free flying. - Very collapse resistant. I cant do big ears. Very efficient glide for a 23 reflex wing There’s more internal movement in the wing than the kougar 1. Which is interesting. It almost needs some more stiffening. Even in ralatively smooth air there’s movement with the wing. Spirals are good and predictable with some trim out – 2 inches. Trim slow with spirals requires a wing over to induce. This wing is a great km eater. It will be good when I fly around the south Islands coastlines. I look forward to your feedback Dave
