Got to get this out of my head before I start my day. In the shower and Im contemplating the most recent of the Batman movies and two points stuck out. 1. The Joker was actually RIGHT. The only reason he got where he did was by playing on peoples dependence on a system (be it criminality or law and order). He played the mob by their fear and greed, and played the police by their cruelty and inflexibility. Ok, so his boat bomb experiment went wrong (all his other experiments worked, so consider the boat the control group). It went wrong because the joker became dependent and inflexible on his own program (depending solely on cruelty and fear of others, and not taking into account the possibility of the opposite) Thats why he failed. He abandoned chaos for a scheduled order and predictability of mankind. Still the best of the series, but horribly flawed in its exposition. 2. How hard would it have been to nod to Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight rises? Wouldve taken less than 10 seconds of footage in the movie; all all they had to do was take a shot where they break into Arkham and free the prisoners; shoot scene of a door in a more secure part of the prison with the Jokers name on the door, the guards could have gone to open it, and Bane stops them and says something to the effect of, Leave him. Our plans do not require such chaos., and they turn and leave, and as they go, you hear faint maniacal laughter from behind the door, and cut to the next scene... BUT...NOOOOoooooo.
