Got to love the trots! This horse raced 8 times and trialled 7 times before they picked up it was the wrong one. No penalty for the stewards? Harness Racing NSW (HRNSW) today inquired into the incorrect presentation of the trotter PADDY NZ for Race 1 the Glenferrie Farms Trotters Mobile (1,609 metre) at the Tabcorp Park Menangle race meeting conducted on Tuesday 18 June 2013. Further, the Stewards inquired into the incorrect presentation of the trotter PADDY NZ at the following race meetings: 1.Fairfield racemeeting on Monday, 10 June 2013 Race 1 the JKT Electrical Trotters Handicap (2,113 metres). 2.Menangle racemeeting on Tuesday 29 January 2013 Race 2 the TAB.Com.Au Trotters Mobile (1,609 metres) 3.Menangle racemeeting on Tuesday 22 January 2013 Race 2 the Cordina Chicken Farms Trotters Mobile (2,300 metres) 4.Menangle racemeeting on Tuesday 15 January 2013 Race 1 the Chambers Trotting Standing Start (1,609 metres) 5.Bankstown racemeeting on Friday 4 January 2013 Race 1 the Allied Express Trotters Mobile (2,540 metres) 6.Menangle racemeeting on Saturday 29 December 2012 Race 10 the Camarda & Cantrill Trotters Handicap (2,300 metres) 7.Bankstown racemeeting on Monday 17 December 2012 Race 1 the Allied Express- Brian Wood Trotters Mobile (2,140 metres) 8.Official trials on: •Tuesday 13 November 2012 at Menangle •Tuesday 20 November 2012 at Menangle •Tuesday 27 November 2012 at Menangle •Tuesday 11 November 2012 at Menangle •Tuesday 1 January 2013 at Nowra •Monday 29 April 2013 at Nowra •Sunday 5 May 2013 at Nowra Evidence was taken from Trainers Mr Peter Carson and Mr Peter Sullivan and HRNSW Deputy Chairman of Stewards Mr Chris Paul. Evidence disclosed that the trotter presented as PADDY NZ for the above racemeetings was in fact THE MOMENT NZ. It was established that Trainer Mr Carson had taken possession of the two trotters PADDY NZ and THE MOMENT NZ at the Menangle racemeeting of 11 December 2012 and that on returning to his training establishment had inadvertently mistaken THE MOMENT NZ for PADDY NZ and was under the mistaken belief that THE MOMENT NZ was PADDY NZ. Consequently, from that point on PADDY NZ was incorrectly presented and raced until Stewards detected the mistaken identity of PADDY NZ when presented to race at the Menangle racemeeting on 18 June 2013.
