Network / Desktop Engineer Job Description • Installing new hardware (servers, printers, Access Points etc). • Troubleshoots hardware, software, interference and communication problems. • Periodic maintenance of wireless network. • Technical Support for people using the network. • Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords. • Operating Systems (OS) installation / re-installation, upgrades and patches for Desktops • Installation of printer (network and local) . • Configuration of Microsoft Outlook. • Cabling & crimping. • Network troubleshooting. Requirement • At least 1 year of previous experience in networking & Desktop • Strong Networking knowledge (OSI architecture, IP Addressing, TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, networking devices at different layers etc.) • Knowledge of Wi-Fi and wireless devices (access points, connectors, cables) • Hand on experience on configuration of Routers, Switches Ability to install, manage Routers, Switches • Good troubleshooting & Communication skills. • Must be able to travel and should not have any issue with working in shift. • Network Manager Requirements for Network Manager include: • Thorough understanding of project requirement and implementation in timely manner. • Assist Networking Advance calls (Escalations) - Network administration, Monitoring, system Performance and System Security. • Liaison & oversee implementation, maintenance tasks with close co-ordination with various vendors / System Integrators for smooth running of the Network • Planning, coordinating, development, motivating and supervision Design, deployment, management of large voice, video, wireless WAN / LAN networks. • Analytical and evaluation data submission to higher management • Manage a team of In-house & outsourced engineers • Planning, Procurement & Implementation of IT infrastructure • Setting up Fail over mechanism, Backup & Disaster Recovery Policies. • To lead the Network Team and provide technical direction to manage 24x7 operations • Manage uptime for systems & network • Experience in Design, deployment and management of Wireless / WAN / LAN Networks. • Should be independently able to handle the entire networking Infrastructure project designing and implementation end to end in appropriate deadline. • Exposure to various Networking Technologies – leased lines, wireless, mobile, RF, Wimax, MPLS,VOIP • Strong planning, organizational and presentation skills necessary. • Ability to understand business requirements , design solution roadmap & deploy solution • Excellent analytical skills, Must have the ability to plan, organize and direct work of technical staff/vendor team and supervisors and the ability to communicate technical information both written and orally. • Strong sense of urgency and. Demonstrated ability to problem solving and at a time manage multi tasking projects; • Certification in various Networking skills like CCNA added advantage Experience in managing heterogeneous network, supporting 24*7 network support experience • Must be able to travel and should not have any issue with working in shift.
