Gotham - S1E1 Pilot I dont why shows love to call their first episodes pilot just because it is the pilot episode, I really wish those shows who do it would just give it a proper episode title. Regardless, Gotham continues the trend of strong season openings I have experienced so far with a pretty great series premiere. Alfred is a bit too... pompous for my own taste, and I wish Montoya & Allen were more like the good cops I know them to be from other media (perhaps theyll change as time goes) but Ive already been drawn into Gordons story and Im excited to see where it goes. Gotham feels like it is worse than war, and by the end of the episode I think the Gordon feels the same way. I didnt realize Bullock was being played by the dad from Grounded for Life, but hes doing a damn fine job in the serious role. I was impressed. Now if Goldbergs, Constantine, and Flash can have great season openings then were looking at a potential, all-around, great season of shows. Though I am still 50/50 on if I will check out Flash without watching Arrow first.
