I have seen countless pictures and videos of the atrocities - TopicsExpress

I have seen countless pictures and videos of the atrocities happening to our brothers and sisters and our children in Palestine …we’ve all seen them, posted them, cried over our laptops, expressed how revolting and gruesome the entire situation is, and yet what we know and feel from it is only a small percentage of what is truly transpiring in the homes and hearts and minds of the Palestinian people undergoing the actual suffering. A 3:05 minute video during which duas come pouring out…with wiped tears, I scroll through a few more posts about the brutality going on “over there” and put my laptop screen down and, with a heavy heart, continue back on my routine… We all process weighty news and the emotions that arise from it in our own ways. Obviously, it is utterly heart wrenching and the devastation leaves me quivering when I see pictures of fathers and mothers mourning over their still infants and toddlers. I can only begin to imagine what that pain is like and even that for me is too painful, so I immediately seek refuge in Allah that I or anyone else should ever have to experience that in their lives…I hug my girls a little more tighter now to be more thankful they’re with me, and just so I can feel their hearts beating against mine…. Today, I saw a video of a Palestinian woman hugging her kids the same exact way moments before the Israeli soldiers ripped her apart from her two daughters who were wailing for her, arms reaching out…. a couple soldiers gruffly grabbed the poor woman and dragged her to their truck as the daughter and mother held on firmly to each other. They snatched the girl away from her mother and held all the kids back only to release them after the truck took off with their mother….the girls, crying and yelling, run long after the truck on the road as if they’d ever be able to catch up and be able to find their mother again……ya Allah! It broke me… This video had no sight of blood or serious physical abuse, but it hit me the hardest. The suffering of people in Palestine has been ongoing for decades, but we’ve now come to see and realize how raw and unforgiving it is and so we’ve felt the kind of pain we’ve felt in the past weeks. The cameras are everywhere to record these acts of injustice, but what’s even more shocking is that the ones committing the atrocities don’t even hesitate at all. They don’t care! In fact, their poses and their faces are proud as they’re being recorded while they assert their authority and might over these helpless people. If this is what happens out in the open, I cannot begin to imagine what happens behind closed doors… When my mother was in the ICU where they had strict rules for over night visitors, I would cry profusely on the nights I had to go home because I was forced to leave ammi by herself in the hands of some doctors on their routine rotations….to me, that was extremely disconcerting. The night ammi passed away, my grief was tremendous but my heart felt alleviated. I knew exactly where she was, and that, to me, was a relief. Those people that have passed away in these brutal acts of terrorism were called by their Lord and they returned to Him promptly. Allah is already taking care of them because that is what the afterlife is all about. Mercy and Justice. By no means do we undermine the kind of pain their family is suffering right now, knowing that they’d never be able to see their loved ones again, but what of those children whose parents, and those parents whose children, have been kidnapped from their clenching grasps that have no idea in who’s mercy they’ll be left with, and if they’re shown any mercy at all…. Tonight’s video made me realize that although the plight of Palestinians is the most apparent and visual right now, there are still our brothers and sisters in Guantanamo and those that we don’t even hear about… and what of our sister Aafiya Siddiqui? They might have become secondary news, but they’re in the hands of people that are proud to boast of their vicious and inhumane torture and those that show no mercy at all!!! Ya Allah!!! We say our Ummah is one, and we all ache for our families in suffering, then we must carry our tears and duas from in front of our gadgets to in front Allah, for real. Those that are suffering in silence too deserve that we continuously feel their pain and keep them in our sincerest duas, just as we’ve felt our obligation to do so by witnessing what is happening to our brothers and sisters in Gaza, inshaAllah. Ya Allah, I don’t even know where to begin my duas and how to ask them of You…but you know the condition of those suffering and the conditions of those who are asking for Your help…please allow us to do the kinds of actions and to make the kind of pleas that will hasten Your Divine help for our brothers and sisters suffering all over the world, and bring about the justice on those that deserve it from You. Ameen.
