Gotta share my horror story. My trusted pain mgmt doc left the practice...just LEFT. No new doc is there yet, theyre waiting on a nurse practitioner...so I was left without delaudid for a day due to USA guidelines. My nice GP prescribed me enough to get me through till I found a new pain dr......being helpful for me because I had none left.... WELL when I went fill my Rx around 5pm it was apparently too early to get more of same dosage(i had doubled up for a few days with dr permission but it wasnt written in my file) GP office doc on call wouldnt approve on the phone for me to get the Rx that evening because he didnt write it himself... so told me to go to ER because they have to treat withdrawal symptoms....Went to ER they said and I QUOTE.....it wont kill you so go home and youll be fine, your doctor told you wrong we dont treat chronic pain I even showed them the script so they wouldnt think I was drug seeking etc. Spent 24 hrs in agony and it was just awful,GP fixed it yesterday and now Im ok...refered to a new specialist that Ill see next Tues. I pray none of you ever deal with that.
