Gov. Perry Appoints Baggett and Stavinoha to Texas Lottery Commission AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Jodie Baggett of Ozona and Katie Stavinoha of The Woodlands to the Texas Lottery Commission. The commission oversees the Texas Lottery, and ensures lottery and bingo games are conducted in a legal and fair manner. Baggett is a partner in a family-owned ranching operation in West Texas and former elementary school teacher. She is a member of the Texas Wildlife Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Land and Mineral Owners Association, Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association, National Society of Magna Charta Dames and Barons, Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Texas, and Friends of the Crockett County Library. She is also a sustaining member and past president of the Ozona Women’s League, board member of the Crockett County Museum, and past board member of the Crockett County Hospital and Care Center Board. Baggett received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston. She is appointed for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2017. Stavinoha is a former public affairs consultant for energy and agriculture businesses and state agencies. She is also former public affairs director for Koch Companies Public Sector, past director of public information for the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, a former communications manager for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, and a past special assistant at the Texas Department of Agriculture. She is an advisory board member of the Jobs and Education for Texans Grant Program and a board member of the Shenandoah Sharks Youth Swim Team. Stavinoha received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. She is appointed for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2019.
