Gov. Shettima receives Acting IGP, donates 40 pickup Vehicles to the Nigerian Police Gov. Kashim Shettima had on Wednesday received the Acting Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba who was in the state for a one day official working visit. His visit was his maiden official visit to Police Commands under him. While responding to IG, the Governor said the singular act of the IG by undertaking his maiden official visit to the state was enough to justify his love the for State. He assured the Force of his maximum support at all times and commended the Borno State Police Command for its untiring effort towards bringing lasting peace to the state. Earlier speaking, the IG said he chooses Borno as his first point of call for three reasons; to motivate and encourage officers and men of the Nigerian Police in the State for keeping peace in Borno, to condole and sympathize with the people and Government of Borno over the mayhem ravaging the state and thank the Governor for the support he has been rendering to Borno State Police Command. The IG also commended the Borno State Government for being first in the country to implement the recommendations of Police Reform Committee by giving out one percent of its monthly income to State Police Reform Committee and the procurement of 40 brand new Pickups was a clear manifestation on part of the Government to reform the Police. The IG further said he served in Borno at Bulabulin and Makera Police Stations, and also Biu Divisional Police Headquarters as far back as 1985-86. He thanked the Governor for the warm reception accorded to him in the state and solicits for more support and cooperation from the state Government.
