“Government, Get busy…Overtime is authorized! Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way” I have broken a vow to myself about posting anything about religion or politics. After reading many post, articles and listening to the news, I am compelled to evoke my right of freedom of speech, to say, “SHAME ON YOU GOVERNMENT, SHAME ON YOU AMERICAN CITIZEN, WAKE UP AMERICA, WHAT HAVE WE DONE?” Government should not be more powerful than the people who put them in place. We have elected them and they have failed us…from the top down. Any business that is in existence would fire those who failed to provide a budget. The government is spending our money with out a budget nor telling us where the money is going. People wake up, this has been going on for years! It is the people that made this country the greatest on earth not the government. “WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES…” We the people know, unlike the house of representatives, the senate, nor president, that there is a “happy” medium. We elect representatives and leaders to serve in our best interest. How is no budget in our best interest? Originally, they were to serve and return to their original way of life…how did we get to where we are? They are acting like a bunch of adolescence whining about not getting their way. Well, I am fed up. Are you? I have many friends and acquaintances, both Democrats and Republicans. What I have realized is that most are moderate no matter what side of the line they are on, not extreme like where congress and the president are today. I think that if the government can not provide a budget on time, September 30, then the American citizen does not pay federal taxes after October 1st, until a budget is passed…If you cannot tell us how you are going to spend our money then we are not going to give it to you. You can “furlough “ the IRS until a budget is past. You the government say you provide for the less fortunate…Well, we have many sleeping on the street, eating in soup kitchens, looking at churches for help…I suggest we take the money we provide in taxes for the “less fortunate” and send it to charities. At least I can go to the local food bank, soup kitchen, church or shelter and see my money at work. Government, get out of the Charity work. You never had to have help so you don’t know jack about what is needed. You should stick to only disasters and you don’t have too good of a track record at that. Oh you say “Separation of “Church and State”. Here is a new one in addition, Separation of “Entertainment and State”. Yes American people, we determine what is entertainment. We pay for tickets to movies, concerts, books, etc, for the entertainment, not for you political view. American citizens, we hold the power, this is how ALL these people got to where they are, and there is many more standing in line to get to where the stars, politicians are. AMERICAN citizen you do have the power. Let’s wipe the slate clean and vote in those that are in our best interest. In closing: I love my country but, do not like my elected officials right now. 1. No budget…no federal taxes 2. No pay for House of Representatives, Senate, President, Supreme Court, and their staffs until a budget is past. 3. Term limits for all elected officials 4. No pay raise for government without a vote 5. No retirement for Congress, Senate, or President…you will make plenty on book deals and speaking engagements if there are people foolish enough to pay. 6. All states should determine and pay the salaries of their representatives and pay expenses. 7. Handouts should be from charities, help those that really need help. 8. Don’t get me started on ethics… You want to reform something…Reform the electoral process. I didn’t elect you to go on the road and beg for reelection…we paid you to do a job. If you do it well then there is no need to beg for more years…. then again term limits. I have posted this to vent and tell my friends that I am fed up, not for notoriety, but if you want to share, feel free after all this is a free country…. sort of, for now.
