Government Higher Secondary School Khara celebrated Annual function day Moral education equally imperative for dev of child: Saroori Announced One Lakh out of his CDF for purchasing equipments for school MOHD ILYAS BUTT Doda, Sep 19. To mark the annual day celebration, Government Higher Secondary School Khara on Thursday witnessed much buz as the school held Colourful function to celebrate annual day with great pomp and show. The students of different classes presented a beautiful cultural programme on this occasion organized by staff members of school. Former Minister and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori has strongly favoured inclusion of moral education in school curriculum and announced One Lack out of his Constituency Development Funds (CDF) for purchasing equipments for school. “All-round personality development of a child is not possible unless moral education is co-opted with mental and physical education,”. Saroori said while speaking at the Annual Day function of Government Higher Secondary school Khara, district Doda. He said academic and extra-curricular activities together are vital for widening the horizon of thought. Saroori, who was Chief Guest on the occasion, said that religion should not be separated from the education because moral education is also imperative for all-round personality development of a child. He said that in the present era of massive knowledge explosion, it is required to equip the children with modern education as well as extracurricular activities to enable them compete stiff competition ahead. He also called for a congenial atmosphere in the educational institutions that could help a child to express himself fully to exhibit his talent. In this connection, he said, the role of teacher is of primary importance as his every act has a long-lasting impact on the mind of a child which is like a clean state. Saroori said parent’s role in personality development of a child is also vital adding that “cradle is the first school where education of a child starts”. He said both teachers and parents should contribute with responsibility for the noble cause of education and teaching. The MLA also urged for introducing games in educational institutions in a big way to imbibe a spirit of sportsmanship, confidence and discipline among the children adding that these qualities are necessary for an efficient administrator and a successful person in the life. He also said construction of school another building will be taken up on priority soon and said he will help in each and every way for good infrastructure of the school besides demand will be redressed in a phase manner. Saroori also wished that in future the students and staff will come forward to uplift the standards of the institution in all the fields of academics and otherwise. The chief guest distributed prizes among students for their academic achievements and acknowledged their wonderful performance. Awards for excellence and the all rounder trophies were given both on the basis of academic and co-curricular activities. Earlier, annual report highlighting the achievements of the students and staff of the Higher Secondary School Khara was presented by Principal Farooq Ahmed who traced the long strides and significant progress made during last year by Higher Secondary School Khara and put forth some demand infront of Chief Guest who is also a local MLA of the area. Others present on the occasion were Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Chowdhary farooq Hafiz, Mohammad Ramzan, Normay Chowdhary, Ghulam harider Wani, Bashir Ahmed Sirwal, Haji Latief Wani, Chowdhary Hasham Din, Manzoor Ahmed, Mohammad Iqbal Teli, Asgar Khangi, Safdar Wani, Jay Dev Sigh, Din Mohd Parray, Akhtar Parray, large number of people including parents of children, teaching staff and prominent citizens were also present. The function ended with vote of thanks by the Principal Farooq Ahmed.
