Government stupidity at its finest! While making the import of new ivory difficult makes sense to deter poaching, banning ivory that has been already LEGALLY brought into the country after 1915 makes zero sense. This could even make it impossible to sell, or repair a piano or organ with ivory key coverings, which in itself is a work of art. Its kind of like if they destroyed the Mona Lisa because the paint may be toxic... Destroying existing ivory worked with and crafted on instruments after 1915 will accomplish nothing but destroy many instruments of historic value! Apparently the government doesnt realize that if you take away the ivory, the elephants from which it came will still be dead... Things like this are one of the many The Things That Bother Me and one of the reasons I like to abstain from getting involved in politics of any sort.
