Governor Maggie Hassan, New Hampshire Business Finance Authority Executive Director Jack Donovan, and Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) Commissioner Jeff Rose today announced Live Free and Start, a new initiative aimed at helping to make it easier for high technology businesses to start up and flourish in New Hampshire. New Hampshire has a number of advantages when competing for businesses, including our low-tax environment, a small state government that is responsive to the needs of the business community, and our high quality of life, Governor Hassan said. But as I meet with business leaders, they tell me that there is more we can do – in particular in improving state technology and regulations – to continue to be a leader in helping high tech businesses start and flourish. We want to ensure that we continue to be a modern and attractive place for high tech businesses to start up and grow, and this new initiative will help determine how the state can build on our efforts to attract innovative companies that create good jobs and support a strong middle class, Governor Hassan added.
