Grace and Law: an Object Lesson by Walt Grace. Ive seen some questions concerning grace. Grace is more than just a great last name, it is something that we do not deserve, but it is given to us anyway. All we need to do is accept it. Im sure weve all heard this story, and its 100% true. The woman here had fallen on hard times. Nevertheless, she had broken the law. The police officer had every right to cite this woman because her child was not properly strapped in as prescribed by said law. This is that every child under a certain size and age needs to be in a car seat. Under the law, we are convicted and found guilty; much as this young mother was. The police officer, knowing that citing her was not going to make the child any safer, bought a car seat at Walmart. The woman didnt deserve it (though arguably, the child did) and she certainly deserved a ticket for it. Much as we deserve punishment for the myriad of sins we have committed against our Master and Creator, Christ Jesus. What the officer did was give this this woman grace against a punishment she deserved. Christ Jesus gave us grace against a punishment we all deserve. This is en eternity in Hell.
