Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus - TopicsExpress

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:2). Grace is the unmerited favor of God. He gives us what we don’t deserve. There are four aspects of grace. The first is described in the word prevenient, which means “beforehand.” God’s grace is extended to you before you even ask. His acceptance is given before you feel acceptable, forgiveness is offered before you ask, and God chose you before you responded to Him. Jesus said, “You did not choose me, but I chose you”( John 15:16). “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). When a man accepts the Lord he says, “I found God!” It may seem that way, but it’s actually the opposite. God chose him. This is grace as well. Second, God’s grace is an initiative grace on His part. He is always pursuing a deeper relationship with you, even if you’re in a holding pattern. Isaiah said: “As the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. They will not toil in vain or bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they and their descendants with them. Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear” (Isaiah 65:22-24). Third, God’s grace is inexhaustible. You can’t drain the supply. You can’t even diminish it. The container is always full. And fourth, God’s grace is all-sufficient—not partial but totally. Jesus said to Paul at his time of need, “My grace is sufficient for you”(2 Corinthians 12:9). With this in mind, go out and do what you have to do today with a new sense of assurance and power. That’s what grace can do for you!
