Gracious asks: Please help! I am looking for a good book series or author I could find in the public library for my daughter. She is reading at first / second grade level-- Little Bear, Henry and Mudge, Clifford the Big Red Dog, etc. I am looking for books that are wholesome, family-friendly, and without much reference to magic or pagan mythology. I am not looking for childrens version of the great classic literatures at this point. She loves books about animals. Any suggestions?
