Grade 1 Learns Colours and Classroom Instructions Euphoric voices, moving bodies, active brains and friendly company- our English teacher Ms Zeynep Akin making sure every part of the physical, emotional and mental state of the students are directed towards learning English in grade 1. Students took turns on the game mat where they had to figure out colours and answer questions based on classroom instructions. Students who got all the questions right made it to the finish line but those who weren’t able to answer all correctly were dismissed back to their seat. Fun learning means happy developing brains, which in turn provides better long term memory. Students really enjoyed the experience of learning their colours and classroom instructions through playing a game. Students’ repetition and continuous use of these words and phrases in and outside of the classroom is a sign that having fun means playing smart!
