There wasn’t a commentator or a journalist who didn’t make reference to my batting style, saying I was going to have to change it. That dominated the first year of my career, you know? To think back now, having scored over 17,000 international runs, I think that’s a lesson in itself to people that you don’t always have to make someone like everybody else.
