Granada target Paraguay starlet Promising 19-year-old midfielder Miguel Almirón is hotly tipped for a move to Granada CF this summer. Reports from the sporting press in Paraguay are suggesting that Granada are in talks with Cerro Portento, over a move for talented young midfielder Miguel Almirón. Whilst no deal has yet been closed, the same reports claim that they are at a very advanced stage. The player, who is widely tipped to be amongst a new golden generation of young stars to emerge from Paraguay, has been quickly drawing attention to himself. A host of European clubs have been sending scouts to watch the player in action, both with Cerro Portento and with the Paraguayan junior national teams. Most recently, Almirón featured in the Paraguay U20 squad that reached the last sixteen of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Israel. Due to the links between Granada and Udinese, both clubs are thought to be in contact with the player’s representatives and his club, according to the reports from Paraguay, but the suggestions are that his destination will more likely be the Spanish club. The youngster has been admired for his all-round game in midfield, but in particular, his technique, close control, passing and his ability to carry the ball. I.S.F ANDREW
