Grand Budapest Hotel Review : Ive never really been a particularly keen Wes Anderson aficionado but find him to be very unique and original and extremely talented at what he does . Just his particular style doesnt do much for me essentially . I found the film relies too much on the Wes Anderson trademark style and feel whilst lacking in any real substance or depth. Aesthetically it looks amazing and the attention to period details are spot on so credit must go to that. It was humorous in parts and its always great to see Jeff Goldblum appear as well as many other top actors. Ralph Fiennes does a decent job as Gustave. However I didnt particularly care for many of the main characters and overall got a bit bored with a story and plot I didnt care about. This film really pushes style over substance IMO. Loved the look and feel and found parts to very funny but overall not that enjoyable. But worth checking out if youve enjoyed films like Moonrise Kingdom and the Royal Tenebaums Rating : 3 out of 5 stars ***
