Grand Coalition Challenges Sata on Constitution The Grand Coalition on the Constitution Making Process has implored President Michael Sata to seriously respond to the request for dialogue by the opposition political parties. Grand Coalition spokesperson MacDonald Chipenzi said the opposition leaders had done the noble thing to officially write to President Sata requesting for a meeting over the constitution making process impasse. Chipenzi said the longer President Sata took to respond the less seriously he will be taken on his willingness to resolve the constitution making process impasse. “President Michael Sata should give the constitution making process due attention. We would like to appeal to him to heed the call for dialogue with the opposition political parties,” he said. “They have officially written to him and he needs to respond because if he takes too long or does not respond it will show that he is not interested in dialogue.” He said, “The 16 political parties are important stakeholders and they have asked him to be on board. They should have a say as stakeholders in this process.” President Sata has put a damper on the constitution making process calling its advocates yappers. The Head of State was a strong advocate for a new constitution during his campaign days and even listed it in his 90 day priority list wooing votes along the way from the Zambians who had long cried for a people driven constitution. zambiareports/2014/05/08/grand-coalition-challenges-sata-constitution/
