Grand prescon of DILIM at Imperial Palace, written and directed by joey reyes. starring rayver cruz, kylie padilla, rafael rosell, nathalie hart, ella cruz and joross gamboa, produced by MOTHER LILY of Regal Entertainment. WRITER-DIRECTOR JOEY REYES has made many acclaimed drama films like “Iisa Pa Lamang”, “Minsan May Isang Puso”, “Ikaw Pala ang Mahal Ko”, “Nang Iniwan Mo Ako” (still the best Sharon Cuneta film for us), but he also excelled in doing horror films for OctoArts like “Malikmata”, “Spirit of the Glass”, “Matakot Ka Sa Karma” and “Kutob”. “Ang tagal ko nang di gumawa ng horror so na-miss ko talaga,” he says. “So I’m really happy that Mother Lily gave me the chance to do another horror flick in ‘Dilim’. And it’s so nice to do horror now kasi nag-iba na ang film language at ang dami ng bagong atake on doing horror films para takutin ang audience. I also want to thank Mother Lily because it’s only Regal that gives filmmakers complete liberty kung anong gusto mong gawin sa movie mo. Kay Mother Lily, you not only have a professional relationship but she’s also a friend.” He’s really a horror fan. “I love the works of Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe. I love to terrify myself. Sa movies, my all time favourites are ‘The Others’ with Nicole Kidman and the original ‘Carrie’ where Brian de Palma’s horror language was really amazing. In ‘Dilim’, the viewers will have a scary journey with Kylie Padilla, a nursing student whose third eye is opened when she stays in a haunted dorm and keeps seeing ghosts even in broad daylight. Pero ang mga multo rito, hindi basta nananakot lang kundi may katuturan. You’ll see when you watch the movie.” We ask the stars of “Dilim”, which opens nationwide tomorrow as a pre-Halloween presentation, what are their favorite horror films? Kylie Padilla: “Ako yung ‘Let Me In’ about a girl vampire starring Chloe Grace Moretz.” Rayver Cruz: “Matatakutin ako at natakot talaga ako sa ‘Insidious’.” Rafael Rosell: “Like Direk Joey, I also enjoyed ‘The Others’. Gusto ko rin ng ‘What Lies Beneath’ with Harrison Ford and yung ‘Orphan’.” Ella Cruz: “I scare easily so I don’t watch. Pero natakot ako doon sa ‘Child’s Play’ na manika ang killer.” Ynna Asistio: “I love ‘The Sixth Sense’.” Incidentally, Direk Joey celebrates his 60th birthday today. He’s now officially a senior citizen. Our best wishes!
