Grandma update: 5 nights ago I was told numerous times my grandma would never leave the hospital alive. I never once gave up on her, and I refused to believe what they were telling me because they were WRONG, and she walked out of the hospital on her own this evening. When my grandma arrived at the ER and CT Scan was completed they told us that she had a massive stroke and that she was bleeding on the brain. When they showed me the scans I had to believe what they were telling me but that was only until I settled down about 36 hours later and remembered that I had seen scans like those before from her in December. I asked the doctor to compare the two images and he agreed to bring them in the next day. When he came in he told me that I was right, and there was no change which gave me a little relief (that must mean shes not bleeding) but he said that it didnt mean she didnt have a stroke because those could take up to three days to show up so they repeated the CT scan again. Again there was no change in those images either. So my grandmas massive stroke was actually a UTI, and high blood pressure which caused the seizures that she had. Grandma is still weak and is unable to be left alone right now but with time we will get her back to where she was. I thank you for the prayers, visits, calls and messages during this time. I have to say a special thank you to my amazing husband and my mom for all their help with the kids while I stayed with grandma. We are truly blessed to have each other. I also cant forget our phenomenal babysitter Elizabeth) either, who kept the little boys over night, kept them longer than usual, and even brought them to the hospital to see grandma.
