Grassroots development prog to start September Grassroots development prog to start September ANFA, Kathmandu The ANFA will be holding various grassroots development programme from September this year. Former Nepal international skipper Upendra Man Singh has been appointed the director of the programme that will run till 2018. Singh said that in the first phase of the programme, they will work with 10 schools in Kathmandu valley and add five more schools next year. The programme will train the football coaches of various schools and will hold a festival every year in December from next year to scout talents for the ANFA Academy’s U-14 group. In the second phase, the programme will also cover Butwal, Banke and Jhapa. A minimum of three schools from each place will be part of the programme. There are plans to increase the number of schools from the following year. To make the programme more successful, the ANFA will be joining hands with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
