Grateful to be Home. I want everyone to know that despite what happened on our vacation it was not all a loss, we had a beautiful few days. We experienced a horrific Hurricane and seen the devastation it did to the people of Baja. We take a gamble when we travel to Mexico and always book during Hurricane season, we never have had a hurricane till now. Would I do it again? Yes I would book during Hurricane season, so many of you say we asked for it? There was no time to evacuate once we knew she was coming, this is not the US with CNN,TV and Media is very different there. the Hotels and Mexican Government told us they thought it would skirt us no reason for alarm. I paid for internet on Sunday and logged onto weather because we heard rumors. By then it was too late to get out, even if we had known on Saturday it was too late to get out. I have met some wonderful people during this disaster, so that makes it all worth it, we laughed, we cried,we prayed, we stuck together, we shared toilet paper. water and food, we joined together as family and weathered the storm and aftermath together, I will never forget them. People that got home before us blew up my sons phone asking if we were home yet. When we were stuck sleeping at the La paz Airport outside on cement, we bonded together, watching each others belongings again, we cried together. A big shout out to my Husband Pat Ransier being my Rock and for banding with a few others and demanding the Mexican Government follow a LIST we were put on that kept disappearing and a new list would be started. You guys stood up for what was right, going nose to nose with them. Oh and on a negative note, Alaska airlines was a let down, would not help get me home on my paid ticket till next week so it cost us $1700 to get home. The rescue flight was free to Mexico city. However the rest of the way was sold out so I had to pay top $$ to get what I could find. I was on the internet as soon as we got into Mexico city trying to book flights home. The people of La Paz were amazing! The news was there filming all of us and Mexican women came out with burritos, rice, cake, bottle waters,sandwiches....all for free. I do not know what we would have done without them. I pray for the people of Cabo and Baja, for the workers we met at the RIU Santa Fe Los Cabos San Lucas, may you all be safe in the rebuilt of your beautiful town
