Gratitude Challenge Day #3 I am grateful that I had the opportunity to go to public schools and get a great education. I not only learned from books and teachers but from the other students, some who were richer, some who were poorer, some who were smarter and more talented, some who were less gifted, some who were lighter, some who were darker, some who spoke English as a first language, some who spoke it as a second, third, or fourth,some who knew more about life in the real world, some who knew less. I could go on and on, but I am hoping that many other children will continue to be able to go to GREAT public schools where it doesnt matter how much money your parents have or how white they are, the opportunity is there for you to make something of yourself and live the American dream. The public schools were the great equalizers, and I implore everyone to fight for their survival. Thats enough for today...
